ABOUT US
Founded in Vienna, Austria in the year 2000 by Alexandra and Roland Mossig, Rascom Computerdistribution quickly developed into a specialist for high grade cooling components. In addition to the growing overclocking trend and tailor-made, more powerful heatsinks, acoustically optimised components soon became a key focus.
As of 2002, Rascom acted as an OEM supplier for one of the then-leading European quiet cooling brands and in 2005, the company took the next step: In cooperation with its development and manufacturing partner Kolink International, Rascom launched Noctua.
While Rascom originally continued to pursue its regular distribution business, Noctua soon became
the exclusive focus, growing from a newcomer in the field to a renowned leader in its market segment. Between the founding of Noctua in 2005 and 2025, Rascom grew from 10 to over 80 employees. Since 2012, Rascom has also been operating a dedicated R&D department in Linköping, Sweden, and in 2026, Rascom opened another R&D site in Hong Kong.
Until today, Rascom remains a founder-owned, founder-run business. Regardless of its considerable growth and structural evolution over the years, the Viennese company is still a family business in the best sense of the word: Its long-term continuity in management, vison and key responsibilities as well as its positive, enabling and inclusive work culture are a key backdrop of Noctua’s success.
In the end, it’s the details and the time you take to get them right that make the difference. We develop products with the goal of ensuring they continue to function reliably years later and prove their worth in everyday use.

We also support our B2B clients through thermal engineering consultancy and can offer product customisations such as different fan cables and connectors.

RASCOM HEADQUARTERS
Vienna, Austria
Our Vienna headquarters are at the very heart of Noctua’s operations. From strategic vision, product management, business analytics, international sales, industrial client relations to engineering, technical validation, visual design, marketing, customer support, logistics and warehousing – this is where the threads come together.
Interfacing closely with the other locations, our R&D team in Vienna is focused on in-depth acoustic, performance and mechanical analysis as well as on developing, refining and automating advanced measurement and validation systems. The headquarters also host our sales and engineering support for industrial clients, our customer service department that assists end users around the globe as well as all marketing and PR activities from sponsoring and press work to social media.
Our Vienna warehouse remains our central logistics hub from where we coordinate international stock flows and distribute goods all over the world. We also collect, inspect and refurbish returned items with the goal of reducing unnecessary waste to an absolute minimum.
KOLINK INTERNATIONAL CORP.
Taipei, Taiwan
Established in 1995, Kolink is a Taiwanese cooling specialist that designed and manufactured high-performance heatsinks for various brands before co-founding Noctua with Rascom in 2005. Since then, Kolink has dedicated itself exclusively to Noctua products and has grown from 20 to more than 200 employees, continually expanding both its R&D and manufacturing capabilities. Today, all key steps of heatsink manufacturing such as heatpipe production, heatsink assembly, soldering and base convexity control are done in-house at Kolink’s factory.
Just like Rascom, Kolink is still a founder-owned, founder-run family business with long-term continuity in leadership positions: Co-founder Kuo-Jen (Tim) Chu has led Kolink as CEO since the very beginning, his son Shih-Hsiang (Alex) Chu advanced to the CTO position in 2021 and other key employees have been on board for more than 20 years.
At Noctua, Kolink is not only responsible for supply chain management, manufacturing, packaging and on-site quality control, but also contributes to R&D and handles international export logistics.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Linköping, Schweden
Since 2012, Rascom has operated a dedicated R&D department in Linköping, Sweden, which continues to work under its own company name, RotoSub AB. Founded in 2004 by Lars Strömbäck, who took on the role of Noctua’s CTO shortly after joining Rascom, RotoSub developed extensive expertise in fan aerodynamics, noise propagation and acoustic optimisation, which has helped to push Noctua’s fan engineering to a new level.
Today, our Linköping team not only directs Noctua’s fan development from aerodynamic design and DFM to motor engineering but also leads other key R&D endeavours such as the two-phase thermosiphon cooling project. Additionally, the Linköping team is responsible for electronics products, handles certifications as well as compliance and closely collaborates with Vienna’s creative team on industrial design.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Hong Kong
Rascom HK Ltd. was founded in 2026 as a dedicated product development site in Hong Kong. It marks the next step in the continuous expansion of the development capabilities Rascom has built in Europe over many years.
The team brings together experienced specialists in design and simulation with deep industry know-how. Working closely with our partner Kolink, the Swedish R&D team as well as the headquarters in Vienna, Rascom HK expands our capacity to develop new products with the knowledge, care and precision they require.
Rascom HK will grow step by step over the coming years, guided by the same long-term approach that has shaped Rascom from the very beginning.
