JUNIOR / EXPERIENCED / SENIOR LEVEL
Mechanical Engineer - Product Development (M/W/D)
Your Role
As part of our international R&D team, you will work on new cooling products from the first technical concept through mechanical design, prototyping and validation all the way to tooling and mass production.
Depending on your experience, you will take responsibility for individual development tasks or manage larger parts of a product development project independently.
Your responsibilities
-
Develop mechanical solutions: Research and evaluate different technical approaches and turn promising concepts into robust product designs.
-
Design and optimise components: Develop mechanical parts and assemblies using 3D CAD, taking functionality, performance, manufacturability, reliability and industrial design into account.
-
Simulate, prototype and test: Validate design decisions through simulation, prototypes and practical testing in our own laboratory as well as together with our engineering teams and external partners.
-
Turn designs into manufacturable products: Work closely with suppliers during RFQ, tooling and sampling to ensure that designs can be manufactured reliably and according to specification.
-
Evaluate tooling and production samples: Review tooling progress and validate first samples as well as subsequent revisions before mass production.
-
Support the transition into mass production: Prepare and review technical documentation and work with our partners to ensure a smooth production start and consistent product quality.
-
Solve technical problems: Analyse mechanical and product-related issues systematically and work with our teams in Hong Kong, Europe and Asia to identify practical solutions.
-
Work across disciplines: Cooperate with Product Management, Purchasing, Marketing and Customer Support throughout the product lifecycle.
The position is based in our Hong Kong office. Occasional visits to manufacturing partners in Mainland China, primarily within the Pearl River Delta, are part of the role.
What We Are Looking For
You enjoy understanding how things work, questioning existing solutions and turning ideas into products that perform reliably in the real world.
You combine sound engineering judgement with a practical, hands-on approach and are comfortable discussing designs with colleagues, suppliers and manufacturing partners.
Ideally, you bring ...
-
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Product Engineering or a related technical discipline
-
Practical experience with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks or Creo
-
A good understanding of mechanical design and product development
-
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances and design for manufacturing
-
Experience with prototyping, testing, tooling or mass-production environments is an advantage
-
A structured and analytical approach to technical problems
-
The ability to manage several tasks and priorities while maintaining attention to detail
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an international team
-
Very good English and Mandarin skills
An interest in PC hardware, cooling technology, PC building or gaming is highly valued. If you enjoy building, modifying or optimising PCs yourself, even better.
Experience level
We are open to candidates at different stages of their engineering careers
-
Junior Mechanical Engineer: Recent graduates and candidates with first relevant engineering experience are welcome to apply.
-
Mechanical Engineer: You already have relevant experience in mechanical design, product development, manufacturing or a comparable engineering environment and can handle development tasks independently.
-
Senior Mechanical Engineer: You bring several years of relevant product-development experience and are comfortable taking ownership of technically complex projects from concept through industrialisation.
The exact scope of responsibility and position level will depend on your experience and technical background.
What You Can Expect
Our Hong Kong R&D centre is located in Tsuen Wan, approximately five minutes' walk from the MTR station.
You will work in a modern Grade A office environment with a dedicated engineering and testing laboratory as well as in-house prototyping equipment including 3D printing and desktop CNC capabilities.
More importantly, you will become part of an international engineering organisation in which Hong Kong is not simply a liaison office. You will actively contribute to the development of Noctua products and work directly with our engineering teams and manufacturing partners.
We Offer:
-
5-day work week
-
Flexible working hours
-
CNY Double pay
-
15 days annual leave
-
Medical insurance
-
Modern office and dedicated R&D/testing facilities
